A
new generation in woodcarving.
Fred Cogelow has gained a considerable reputation in North America
over the last decade, having won more "best of show" awards
in recent years than any other carver.
Our first introduction to Fred was at the Davenport Congress in
1982 when his carving "Hunts the Crying Bear" won the
Henry taylor $5000 best of show award. Since that time we have maintained
friendly and regular contact with him. Combining his years of experience
and natural talent for woodcarving together with broad knowledge
of engineering, Fred has innovated a range of carving tools which
offer the decreased resistance of the skew (the same principal as that of the guillotine) in combination
with the control and contouring capabilities of the gouge. In addition,
a variety of new bends and lengths allow greater accessibility and
greatly improved ergonomic performance.
The tools have been selected for production based on their individual
merits and suitability to a wide variety of carving products and
styles.
